Frequently Asked Questions

Can tourists buy flowers at Morning Glory Market?

Yes, while primarily a wholesale market, individual vendors will sell small quantities to tourists. Prices are significantly lower than retail flower shops, but you'll need to arrive early (before 6:00 AM) and bring cash. Expect to pay 20,000-50,000 VND for a mixed bouquet that would cost 100,000+ VND at tourist shops.

Is it safe to visit Morning Glory Market at 3:00 AM?

The market area is very safe during operating hours due to constant activity, good lighting, and regular security presence. However, transportation to/from the market in early morning hours requires planning. Arrange motorbike taxis in advance or stay at nearby accommodations within walking distance.

Do I need a guide to understand the flower auction process?

While not essential, a Vietnamese-speaking guide significantly enhances the experience by explaining auction procedures, introducing you to vendors, and helping navigate the complex pricing system. Local guides cost 200,000-400,000 VND for a 3-hour morning tour and can be arranged through dalat.app or local tour operators.

What's the difference between Morning Glory Market and regular Da Lat flower gardens?

Morning Glory Market is a working wholesale trading hub focused on commerce rather than tourism, operating on pre-dawn schedules with bulk transactions. Tourist flower gardens like Valley of Love operate during normal daylight hours, focus on visitor experience, and showcase landscaped displays rather than commercial flower trade.

How does the market connect to Da Lat's overall flower industry?

Morning Glory Market serves as the central distribution hub for Da Lat's 1,200+ flower farms across Lam Dong Province. Flowers harvested from highland farms are processed, graded, and auctioned here before distribution nationwide and export to neighboring countries, making it the economic heart of Vietnam's $500 million annual flower industry.
