Three-Vehicle Collision on Bao Loc Pass Causes Major Traffic Delays
Rainy Conditions Lead to Serious Accident on Mountain Route
A three-vehicle chain collision on the treacherous Bao Loc Pass yesterday afternoon has once again highlighted the dangers of traveling this vital mountain route connecting Đà Lạt to Ho Chi Minh City during heavy rainfall.
According to Thanh Niên, the accident occurred around 4:25 PM at kilometer 102 on a sharp curve of the pass. A fuel tanker truck with license plate 60H-216.41, traveling from Đà Lạt toward Ho Chi Minh City, suddenly collided with a 4-seat car bearing Ho Chi Minh City plates traveling in the same direction ahead.
The impact was so severe that the smaller vehicle was pushed forward and crashed into a refrigerated truck also heading down the pass. The car became wedged between the two larger vehicles, with both its front and rear ends completely crushed.
Fortunate Escape Despite Severe Damage
Despite the dramatic nature of the collision and extensive vehicle damage, authorities report that miraculously no one was injured in the incident. This outcome could have been much worse given the severity of the crash and the challenging conditions on the pass.
At the time of the accident, heavy rain was falling across the Bao Loc Pass area, creating slippery road conditions and severely limiting visibility for drivers navigating the winding mountain route.
Traffic Disruptions Continue
The collision caused significant traffic disruptions along this crucial transportation artery. Vehicles traveling through the pass were forced to move slowly, creating lengthy traffic jams that extended for considerable distances.
Traffic police from Lam Dong Province, working alongside local commune police, responded to the scene to manage the situation and coordinate vehicle removal efforts.
