Đà Lạt to Welcome 40 Countries at 9th International Flower Festival This Spring
City of Flowers Prepares Grand Welcome for Global Visitors
Đà Lạt is set to burst into even more color this spring as the highland city prepares to host its 9th International Flower Festival from April 24 to May 3, 2026, with participants from over 40 countries expected to attend, according to an announcement from the Lâm Đồng Provincial People's Committee.
The biennial festival, which has become a cornerstone of Vietnam's tourism calendar, will transform the area around Xuân Hương Lake and extend across multiple venues including Lâm Viên Square and the Đà Lạt Flower Gardens.
"This year's festival theme is 'Flowers and Sustainable Development,' reflecting our commitment to green tourism and environmental protection," said Trần Văn Hiệp, Director of the Lâm Đồng Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, during a press conference held Tuesday at the provincial government headquarters.
Record International Participation Expected
Organizers expect the 2026 edition to be the largest yet, with flower growers, landscape designers, and tourism delegations confirmed from the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Ecuador, among others. The festival will feature more than 300,000 potted flowers and an estimated 500 different varieties.
A highlight will be the International Flower Arrangement Competition, which will take place along Trần Hưng Đạo street, featuring master florists from across Asia and Europe. Night-time flower parades using electric vehicles will wind through the city center, addressing previous concerns about emissions and noise pollution.
Economic Boost for Highland Tourism
The festival is projected to attract over 500,000 visitors during its 10-day run, injecting an estimated 800 billion VND into the local economy. Hotels in the city center and around Prenn Pass are already reporting strong advance bookings.
Nguyễn Thị Lan, owner of a guesthouse near Đà Lạt Market, expressed optimism: "We've been fully booked since January. International tourists are particularly interested in our homestay programs that combine flower tourism with coffee farm visits."
The provincial government has allocated 45 billion VND for festival preparations, including infrastructure improvements around Cam Ly Falls and expanded parking facilities near Langbiang Mountain to accommodate the influx of domestic and international tourists.
Ticket prices have been set at 150,000 VND for adults and 80,000 VND for children, with multi-day passes available. Online registration opens March 1 through the official festival portal.
