New Leadership in Đà Lạt's Xuân Hương and Lâm Viên Wards
On January 15, Đà Lạt witnessed a significant administrative shift as two of the city's most vibrant wards, Xuân Hương and Lâm Viên, welcomed new leadership. According to Thanh Niên, Mr. Nguyễn Hoàng Phúc, previously the Chair of the People’s Committee of Cát Tiên District, has been appointed as the new Chair of the People’s Committee of Lâm Viên Ward, while Ms. Trần Thị Võ Loan, who previously held the position, has been reassigned as the Deputy Chair of Xuân Hương Ward. This change marks a new chapter for both communities, which are known for their lively markets, historic architecture, and close-knit neighborhoods that make Đà Lạt feel like a second home to many residents.
Mr. Phúc, who has served in various roles across Lâm Đồng Province, brings a wealth of administrative experience to his new post. Before his appointment, he was the Chair of the People’s Committee of Cát Tiên District, a role he held after the merger of three southern districts—Cát Tiên, Đa Tông, and Đa Huoai—into the newly formed Đa Huoai District. His background in agriculture and natural resources management, as well as his experience in local governance, is expected to benefit both Lâm Viên and Xuân Hương Wards.
Lâm Viên Ward, located near the city center, is home to several key landmarks, including the historic Đà Lạt Railway Station and the bustling Trại Mát market. Meanwhile, Xuân Hương Ward, known for its scenic views and tranquil atmosphere, is a popular spot for both residents and tourists. The new leadership is expected to focus on improving infrastructure, promoting local culture, and enhancing the quality of life for residents.
Local community members have expressed optimism about the changes, noting that the new leadership is likely to bring fresh ideas and a renewed sense of purpose to these wards. As one resident put it, 'With new leaders in place, we hope to see more investment in our neighborhoods and a stronger connection between the local government and the people.'
