Khanh Le Pass Reopens for Tet: Nha Trang-Da Lat Route Restored
Mountain Pass Reopens Just in Time for Tet Travels
For the first time in over a month, travelers can once again take the scenic route between Nha Trang and Đà Lạt through the majestic Khanh Le Pass. According to Tuổi Trẻ, the Khanh Hoa Department of Construction has announced that all vehicles can now traverse the pass daily from 5 AM to 6 PM, effective immediately.
This news comes as a tremendous relief for Đà Lạt residents who depend on this vital connection to reach the coastal city of Nha Trang. The pass, located on National Highway 27C, had been completely closed for repairs after suffering severe landslides at over 100 locations during the recent rainy season.
"We're thrilled to have our mountain gateway reopened," said local tour operators who have been forced to use longer alternative routes. The timing couldn't be better, as Tet Binh Ngo 2026 approaches and thousands of visitors are expected to travel between the coastal resort city and our beloved flower city.
Night Travel Restrictions Remain
While daytime travel has resumed, authorities maintain safety restrictions during nighttime hours. From 6 PM to 5 AM the following morning, vehicles must use National Highway 27 and other suitable routes when traveling between Lam Dong and Khanh Hoa provinces.
The nearby Song Pha Pass on National Highway 27, connecting Phan Rang to Đà Lạt, has also returned to stable operations according to the Khanh Hoa Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Management Board.
A Welcome Return to Normalcy
For Đà Lạt's tourism industry, this reopening represents more than just restored connectivity. The Khanh Le Pass route offers some of Vietnam's most breathtaking mountain scenery, winding through pine forests and offering spectacular valley views that our visitors cherish.
Local businesses that cater to travelers making the journey between the mountains and the sea are preparing for increased traffic during the upcoming holiday period. Hotels, restaurants, and tour operators along the route are optimistic about a return to pre-closure visitor numbers.
The restoration of this crucial mountain passage ensures that families separated by the closure can reunite for Tet celebrations, and tourists can once again experience the dramatic landscape transition from Đà Lạt's cool highlands to Nha Trang's tropical coastline.
