Woman Fined for Spreading Fake AI-Generated Stories About Đà Lạt
False Stories Shock Online Community
A 33-year-old woman from Hải Phòng has been fined 7.5 million VND by Lâm Đồng Police for spreading fabricated stories about Đà Lạt, including a shocking fake report about "3 students buried alive" in our peaceful city.
According to Tuổi Trẻ, N.T.K. used artificial intelligence tools to create 415 fake video stories between June and December 2025, posting them on her YouTube channel "Ký sự bí mật" (Secret Chronicles) to attract viewers and generate profit.
AI-Generated Horror Stories Target Đà Lạt
The false content specifically targeted Đà Lạt with sensationalized titles designed to exploit people's curiosity and fears. Beyond the "buried alive" story, K. created disturbing fake narratives including "Đà Lạt bloodbath: wife dismembers husband and two friends" and "21 missing victims in Đà Lạt: human finger found in beef noodle bowl."
For those of us living in Đà Lạt, these fabricated stories are particularly offensive. Our city, known for its cool mountain air, flower gardens, and welcoming tourism industry, became the backdrop for completely invented horror scenarios that could damage our community's reputation.
"The videos attracted over 10 million views and gained more than 113,000 channel subscribers," reported the police investigation.
Impact on Local Community
These fake stories not only spread misinformation but could potentially harm Đà Lạt's image as a safe tourist destination. Visitors who might have planned trips to explore our famous Dalat Market, enjoy coffee at our hilltop cafes, or visit the iconic Crazy House could be deterred by such fabricated content.
When confronted by authorities, K. admitted to her violations and promised not to repeat such actions. The case highlights growing concerns about AI-generated misinformation and its impact on local communities like ours in the digital age.
