Dalat's Ring Road Opens but Faces Final Hurdles

A Major Milestone for Dalat's Transportation

On April 29, the Department of Construction in Lam Dong Province announced that the Dalat Ring Road, a 7.4 km project, is set to be completed and officially opened at the start of 2026. This long-awaited infrastructure will connect key areas like Truc Lam - Yen Tu Nong (2.6 km) and An Son - Y Dinh - An Ton (4.8 km), significantly improving traffic flow in the city. However, a small but critical section of the road, over 100 meters long, remains unfinished due to two households in Cam Ly Ward who have yet to hand over land for construction.

A Symbol of Progress, Yet a Local Challenge

For residents of Dalat, the Ring Road has been a topic of conversation for years. It promises to ease the city’s notorious traffic congestion, especially during peak tourist seasons when streets like Pho 30/4 and Hai Ba Trung become gridlocked. Local business owners on Pho Hai Ba Trung have long awaited this development, hoping it will bring more visitors and reduce the burden on smaller roads.

According to the Land Development Center in Lam Dong, the total investment for the Ring Road project has been approved at over 404 billion VND. As of now, 153 out of 157 households have received compensation and land clearance, and 155 have handed over their land. Only two households in Cam Ly Ward remain, causing the final stretch of the road to remain incomplete.

Local officials have been working closely with the affected households, emphasizing the importance of the project for the city’s future. According to sources, the government is committed to resolving the issue promptly to ensure the full completion of the Ring Road. For now, the city continues to balance progress with the needs of its residents, a hallmark of Dalat’s community spirit.
